AmazingContainer™ Return & Refund Policy

This Return & Refund Policy applies to all products and modular units supplied by SGW Capital Limited, trading as AmazingContainer™ (“we”, “us”, “our”).

1. Made-to-Order & Customized Products

All AmazingContainer™ units are precision-engineered and manufactured to order or configured based on specific customer requirements (including floor plans, utility standards, and interior finishes).

Due to the customized nature of these structures:

  • We do not accept returns for “change of mind” or buyer’s remorse.
  • We do not offer refunds if a customer chooses not to proceed after a project has entered the queue.
  • Deposits are strictly non-refundable once production, material procurement, or factory allocation has commenced.

Note: This policy is designed to comply with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where applicable, and international trade standards for prefabricated buildings.

2. Deposits & Cancellations

Before Production Commences

If a cancellation request is received in writing before material procurement or manufacturing has started, we may, at our sole discretion, issue a partial or full refund. This refund will be less any incurred costs, including but not limited to:

  • Administrative and transaction fees
  • Custom design and architectural drafting costs
  • Supplier booking fees
  • After Production Commences

Once production or the procurement of specific materials has started:

  • Cancellations will not be accepted.
  • All deposits paid will be deemed non-refundable to cover dedicated labor and raw material costs.
  • Any remaining balance under the contract remains due as per the agreed payment schedule.

3. Inspection & Claims Upon Delivery

Expandable houses are large-scale modular assets. You must inspect the unit immediately upon its arrival at your site or collection from our facility.

  • 48-Hour Reporting Window: Any visible structural damage or manufacturing defects must be reported to us in writing within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Deemed Acceptance: Failure to notify us within this timeframe will result in the unit being deemed accepted in good condition.
  • Refusal of Delivery: If significant visible damage is present upon arrival, you must not sign the delivery receipt and must contact your AmazingContainer™ representative immediately.
  • Evidence: Clear photographic and video evidence is required to process any damage claim.

4. Transport & Risk Mitigation

Shipping is conducted via third-party specialized logistics providers.

  • With TransitCare Protection: If you have purchased our optional TransitCare Protection, structural damage occurring during ocean or road transit will be covered, provided it is reported within 5 days of delivery with supporting evidence.
  • Without TransitCare Protection: All risks associated with transit pass to the buyer once the unit leaves our loading facility. Any claims must be filed directly with the carrier.

5. Exceptional Refund Circumstances

In the rare event that a refund is approved by our management under exceptional circumstances:

  • A 10% Restocking & Administrative Fee (based on the total purchase price) will apply.
  • Refunds may take up to 60 days to process, contingent upon the resale or reassignment of the unit.
  • All costs associated with original delivery, storage, return transport, and handling will be deducted from the refund amount.

6. Non-Returnable Conditions

The following situations are strictly ineligible for any form of return or refund:

  • Units that have been fully or partially installed.
  • Units that have been modified, painted, or altered by the buyer.
  • Damage caused by poor site preparation, incorrect foundation leveling, or improper DIY installation.
  • Damage caused by extreme weather events exceeding the unit’s rated design specifications.

7. Assistance with Resale (On-Selling)

If your circumstances change and you no longer require your unit after delivery, we may, at our discretion, assist you in finding a new buyer via our network.

  • A 10% Service & Referral Fee applies to successful sales.
  • The original buyer remains responsible for all logistics and transport costs involved in the transfer to the new owner.
